Some pics of the bands that I managed to catch on the first day at Wickerman.
Although it’s not really far between the various tents and stages at Wickerman Festival you still have to put in a fair bit of legwork to catch all the bands that take your fancy, as well as taking in some artists that are unknown to yourself as well. Anyway, here’s (pictorially) how my Friday went, these were the acts that I managed to (at least) catch a good part of their set. These are in order from afternoon onwards starting off with the excellent Roaches who I’d love to see back in Scotland again. The mix of different styles of music on offer is a joy to behold as you can sample artists you’d maybe not go and see normally.
Highlights of my day were probably Endor, the North East’s representatives at Wickerman, Indian Red Lopez, Spunge (who I’d never seen live before), and my own personal favourites, The Damned. Actually, the standard, in my opinion, was very high across the Scooter Tent, the Solus tent and the GoNorth tent throughout, so much so that I hardly went near the main stage all day.
