Just thought I’d apologise for arriving after quarter past eight and only catching the last three songs or so of their set. I really should know better that these club nights at weekends seem to rule the roost at times. Anyway, I managed to get a few pictures and as for the music these young lads show a lot of promise. It’s probably filed under indie-pop if you really need a label but its clean, and its tuneful. Better than average I’d say too although perhaps not very original (does it need to be?). Check ’em out when you can.

After seeing these lads for the third time lately I think this was the best performance yet. Think tuneful indie with a slash of angry down the middle. Nine songs, squeezed into just over half an hour including a couple of new ones. Aye, they play a lot around these parts at the moment but I think they’ve just got that bit tighter lately. I think they turned 13 quite a while ago now but they’ve matured a lot these last few months. I enjoyed their set and they’d prepared us nicely for the main band of the evening.

What can I say to do these lads justice? Having announced this was to be their last gig they could easily have just pulled the plug and said `fuck it, but no, we get one more chance to hear these songs, well, anthems even, that they have caressed and nurtured over these last three years or so. While I was disappointed by the numbers in the venue tonight it was maybe just that bit more special as their followers took the chance to see them one more time. Iain & Co didn’t disappoint, launching into the fireball that is To the Glory of God followed by Tim Finn. There’s compliments to Aberdeen and Ross from AGP from the band between songs and they really do seem to mean them. That Kid Can Sleep takes us to To Their Blood and its great to see a few folk joining in with every word. New One draws the short set to a close and what better way to end with the singalong Pictures-Memories. Just superb. Still Burning.
