The first weekend of August sees the return of the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival – a fantastic family friendly event just west of Inverness, who do great work raising funds for the ARCHIE appeal.
Set in the grounds of the Belladrum Estate, there are a selection of stages catering for just about anyone’s musical taste, along with stunt cycling from Danny Macaskill’s Drop & Roll and a variety of entertainment including headphone discos, comedy sets, the Burke & Hair theatre, busking spots, flash mobs, a multitude of intriguing sculptures and a wide selection of booths & stalls providing everything from food to massage.
Last year there were Vikings rampaging and pillaging and even a fire-breathing dragon so who knows what there will be this year – we cant wait find out. For those planning to camp, the Jolly Green Sherpas will be awaiting your arrival to help you transport your camping gear from car to pitch site.
Headlining the main stage this year are Madness (Saturday), Two Door Cinema Club (Friday) and The Darkness (Thursday night).
This year is their 13th year so the theme is, of course, Superstition. For those who fancy it, there is a fancy dress parade and prizes for the best so get your thinking caps on.
Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival runs from 4th to 6th August. Details here: http://www.tartanheartfestival.co.uk/
